It is truly an honor to join the West Cabarrus Family as your next Principal. I look forward to continuing the West tradition of community involvement, academic excellence, and celebrating staff and student achievements. I feel so fortunate to lead and work in the community in which I live. I’m a proud resident of Concord, NC!  When I’m not serving in the capacity of a Principal, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and reading. This is an exciting year for my family, our only child Kennedi Robinson is transitioning to North Carolina A&T University this fall.

My family prioritized education growing up and because of this, I was afforded many of the opportunities that allowed me to grow in the field of education.  I graduated with a biology degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I began my teaching career first as a middle school mathematics and language arts teacher and then as a middle school science teacher. During this time, I also received master’s degrees in teaching & educational leadership from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I later became an assistant principal, a Human Resources Team Leader and then a principal for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Through my leadership, I organized and established programs that transformed the educational experience for students by providing leadership and supervision in elementary, middle and high schools. I focused on climate and culture, instructional leadership, and instructional programming.

My educational philosophy is based on my uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family.

The West Cabarrus community has worked hard to increase their footprint in this community, and I promise to continue this commitment to academic and community excellence. Our work is not done, and we must continue the MOMENTUM. Whether you are new to the West family or a familiar face, we are poised for excellence. Relationships are at the core of my values as a leader. Your child’s safety, well-being and academic growth are paramount every single day.
